Do you feel qualified?

I constantly find myself wondering how on earth God could use me to make a difference in this world. I am a girl from Louisiana who tends to get nervous easily, who is a control freak about certain things, who much prefers smaller settings, and who gets incredibly nauseas at the thought of being in front of a crowd— how on earth could God use me, I just don’t feel qualified. Well a pastor I heard once said “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies everyone He calls”. I LOVEEEEEEEEEE that. Need some biblical examples as proof that He does this? Eve ate the fruit, Moses stuttered, Paul murdered, David was small, Daniel committed adultery— and the list could go on and on. He does this so we are aware that it has NOTHING to do with us and EVERYTHING to do with Him.

I love how Gideon says “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family” and God first words are “I will be with you”. You see, our calling isn’t about us, its about God. I’m here to tell you if today you feel unworthy, unqualified, not good enough, unimportant, not needed, unloved, unwanted— that you are noticed and so loved by God. Isn’t that awesome? but The enemy is constantly finding ways to take away that joy. Often times he uses something we weren’t created for and waits for when we are vulnerable to ensure that we feel worthless in the end. Here is a simple example- I love watching gymnastics, I think the moves that some of those athletes do are incredible- but If I focus on the fact that “Im not talented enough to do that, or strong enough, or small enough” I can begin to feel worthless.. but I am terrified to do a simple flip on a trampoline, clearly gymnastics was not my calling so all of those thoughts are lies of the enemy. My prayer is that we begin to see less of those lies, and see more of what God sees in us. God will serve His purpose in our lives. He has placed specific gifts and callings on each of our lives, our job is to let God work in and through us. Let’s not question His ways or His timing- but instead rejoice in the fact that God has complete control over our lives.

Have an AMAZING day!

Love,
Tay
