Proverbs 16:9
"We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight."
I want to talk about waiting. Everyone’s (mine especially) favorite thing to do. No seriously, I need work when it comes to patience. I don’t like to wait. I don’t like waiting on people to get ready, I don’t like waiting on surprises, on packages, I don’t even like to wait for food (If i have to wait on food, I get hangry). Waiting is always made out to be this bad thing but sometimes waiting is the best thing.
For instance, waiting on God is always the best and most important thing. I’m a planner, I like things to go my way and for things to happen how I think is best, I admit that is not always the best trait. God has over and over again showed me how my plan and my way is not the best and that His is so much better. He always has our best interest in mind and He will give us the desires of our hearts but it will be in His timing and in His way.
We are transitioning into one of my favorite seasons, I am so thankful for seasons and change. Could you imagine being in the same season forever?! I think I would go crazy if it was constantly 100 degrees or constantly 50. You see, we have seasons in our own life too and over time and after a lot of trial and error, I have learned to wait on God’s timing. I’ve even learned that while I’m waiting, to not be impatient but to serve, trust, and love Jesus even during the waiting season.
Too often we find ourselves wanting something or wanting something to happen, but we would rather get it now instead of later. When it doesn’t go exactly how we planned we are quick to ask God “when” but we are never quick to trust Him. I promise you, 100% of the time, if you do not get a certain thing or a circumstance doesn’t exactly go your way, God isn’t holding out just to make you upset, God is holding out because He knows what He has in store for you and it is so much better. I pray we begin to trust and find comfort in the fact that our steps and our path is guided by an all knowing God that is madly in love with us.
Since fall/winter is my favorite season- I felt it necessary to post a picture of our beautiful Christmas tree! I can't believe it is already almost this time of year!
