Things You Should Thank Your Mom For

THANK YOU NOTE TO MOM

This week is my moms birthday. I Just wanted to give a shoutout to her this week. Here are a few things we don’t always thank our moms for, but we should.

  1. Thank you for always being there. You were there when I made the horrible decision to cut my bangs the day before school picture day, you were there during any heartbreak, you were there during any nightmare. Anytime I needed you, you always showed up and still this day you’re the first person I call.
  2. Thank you for saying no. Thank you for not always letting me get what I wanted and not giving into all of my (many) temper tantrums. This has built character and it has helped me learn to work for things.
  3. Thank you for teaching me to kill people with kindness. You were blessed with a sarcastic daughter who usually says what she thinks lol but I am so thankful that you have taught me to handle disagreements and hurts with grace.
  4. Thank you for forgiving. Gosh, when I think back to how big of a brat I was as a kid it makes me nauseous ( we will just blame it on the raging hormones) but seriously, I am so sorry. NO matter what though you always forgave and you always loved. Your love for me is unconditional and something I hope to show to my children one day.
  5. Thank you always teaching me about Jesus. My life would be nothing without Jesus. He is the only AMAZING thing about me and I am just so thankful that you planted a desire and love for Him in my heart at a young age; and that you raised me around truth, and grace, and love, and purpose.
  6. Thank you for never letting me settle. You always wanted the best for me and you never let me settle for anything less than I deserve. You showed me that I am worthy and valued and a princess in your’s and Jesus’ eyes.
  7. Thank you for taking me on family trips. Some of the best memories are on these trips. I LOVE going to new places with y’all, and just playing games and exploring and laughing until our stomachs hurt. I am so thankful for all those trips and all the cool places we got to see.
  8. Thank you for showing me what a strong women is. You fight for people, you love others whole heartedly, you have unshakeable faith.
  9. Thank you for worrying about me, even though I say you don’t need to. I am so thankful to have a mom that cares so deeply about me. (Even enough to stalk me on “Find my iPhone” lol) but seriously thank you for always checking in and always looking out for me.
  10. Thank you for being my mom before my friend. When I was younger, I was so jealous of friends that moms let them do whatever they wanted. Now, I feel stupid for ever caring. I am so thankful you disciplined first before just letting me have “fun". I am so thankful that you taught me boundaries and to stick to them, it has helped me so much in my life now.

This list could go on and on, Thank you for the countless school events, the many sports, the boring band concerts, the tears, the laughs, the 1 AM cat video watching, the long talks, the support, the love, the encouragement, thank you for always being my number one fan, Thank you being an amazing Mom and becoming my absolute best friend. I hope your birthday is fantastic this week, you deserve it.
Love,
Your Tpot
