We live in a world where we can control a lot of what we do and when we do it. We can get in the habit of being in control and if you’re anything like me— you are a control freak. I like to have a plan and i like to know when things are going to happen and exactly how they are going to happen. However, when it comes down to our lives , it just doesn’t work like that. God has a plan and purpose for each and every one of us - He knows how our day is going to be laid out, what we are going to do, who we will see, what we will encounter, WAYYY before we ever know. Thankfully, God also gives us the ability to take on the world and to go through our daily lives with full confidence if we let Him in.
I’ve recently learned the importance of walking by faith- to the point where I even got it tattooed on my body. Now you don’t have to have a permanent reminder, like I do— but it seriously is such an important thing to grasp. “ Walk by Faith” very easy to say but doing it is a completely different story. There comes a point where we have to let go and let God. Where we have to trust that He will give us the desires of our hearts and His plan is ALWAYS best.
Im reminded of the verse 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that says “Pray Continually” My desire is that I pray continually and ask God to take control of every detail of my day and my life. I love this quote from the devotional book "Jesus Calling”— if you don’t have it GO GET IT. But anyways, the quote is “ When you try to peer into the future and plan for every possibility, you ignore your constant companion, who sustains you moment by moment. As you gaze anxiously into the distance you don’t even feel the strong grip of my hand holding yours.” My prayer is that we stay resting in Jesus all day, every day. That we are never anxious or fearful of whats to come, but that we have full confidence in Jesus to take care of us and to direct our paths- let’s let Him in today.
“Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart”
Psalm 37:4
